The favourite was a near “lock” at -1200 odds. That would be “Searching For Sugar Man” and many of your might be familiar with this film after it was featured on a segment of the CBS news magazine “60 Minutes”.
The documentary, directed by Sweden’s Malik Bendjelloul, revolves around 60’s Detroit-based recording artist Rodriguez. The singer, it turns out, developed a huge following in South Africa despite his career not taking off in the States. In the documentary, two fans attempt to find out whatever became of Rodriguez and whether it was true he had died. 94 percent of critics who reviewed the film via the aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes gave “Searching for Sugar Man” positive reviews.
You would need to bet $120 to win $10 (with the $120 refunded should “Searching for Sugar Man” win). More Oscars 2013 betting odds can be found here.
