Casey Affleck was a -300 favorite to win the 2017 Golden Globe award for Best Actor but the competition is somewhat stiff with Denzel Washington at 3/1 to win for Fences. The payout on Affleck would be $10 for every $30 bet (the $30 is refunded should he win with a $10 profit), and $30 for every $10 bet for Washington.
“Ben (Affleck) and I have been convinced for the last 18 years that next year is going to be the year for Casey,” said Manchester on the Sea producer Matt Damon. “But there wasn’t anything he passed where you could go back and finger-wag him and say, ‘You really should have done that.’ He’s just got really high standards.”
Affleck, however, is dealing with sexual harassment allegations from years past that may make Washington a great value here despite all the accolades that have come Affleck’s way.
