Oscar 2014 Betting Odds as ‘Gravity’, ‘American Hustle” Win Most Nominations
Carrie Stroup here with your Oscar 2014 betting odds as nominations were announced Thursday morning.
While both “Gravity” and “American Hustle” stole the show, it was “Twelve Years A Slave” that is still listed as the early favorite to win for Best Picture at Sportsbook.com. The good news for Oscar betting fans is that three films appear to be vying for the favorite spot early on, which will result in competitive odds during the weeks leading up to the big awards show.
Betting on the Academy Awards is only second to wagering on the US Presidential race when it comes to popularity of nonsporting events.
There were a few shockers with Thursday’s nomination announcements including Tom Hanks being overlooked for his role in “Captain Phillips” and another snubbing of Robert Redford, who has never won an Oscar.
Here are your Oscar 2014 betting odds for Best Picture courtesy of Sportsbook.com.
Twelve Years A Slave 2/5
American Hustle 11/4
Gravity 15/2
The Wolf Of Wall Street 40/1
Captain Phillips 40/1
The Dallas Buyers Club 60/1
Philomena 100/1
Her 100/1
