Uptown Funk Grammy Odds 1-5 With 45 Percent Backing From Gamblers
“Uptown Funk”, a song recorded by Mark Ronson and featuring Bruno Mars, had odds of 1-5 of winning Record of the Year at this year’s Grammys. Nearly half of those betting this category (45 percent) were backing the Ronson/Mars smash hit to win Monday night.
The song remained on Billboard’s Hot 100 for a record 14 weeks.
It is Ronson’s album "Uptown Special” that contains the hit single and he’s also the white guy who appears sitting on the front of the white limo in the music video that accompanies the hit single.
"It's pretty dead on. The white guy in the Bruno Mars video - everyone knows who they're talking about," Ronson said sarcastically in an interview with CBS News. "It's like, 'Yeah right, that guy with the guitar and the tall guy, sure.'"
Ronson made a name for himself producing Amy Winehouse's critically acclaimed 2006 album.
