According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald this weekend, US oil heir Brandon Davis has been cut off from his family's millions, forcing him to lean on his wealthy mates.  The reason:  his partying ways - gambling with the high rollers in Las Vegas, boozy nights and wild women.

The New York Post ran an item this week about the US oil heir Brandon Davis hitting financial hard times. Davis is famous for being part of the "it" crowd in Hollywood, partying with the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.

The Post report said Davis rang up $US75,000 ($120,000) on a credit card he "swiped" from wealthy Italian friend Andy Valmorbida.

Brandon is the grandson to the former billionaire Marvin Davis.  Marvin made his fortune by drilling for oil and natural gas in the Rocky Mountains.  After accumulating his riches from the energy industry, Marvin diversified his money into real estate with the acquisition of prominent properties such as the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Pebble Beach resort.

Last year, Bahamian Atlantis Paradise Resort reportedly sued Davis for bouncing checks in the casino there back in January (over $75,000 in debt).  The Hard Rock Hotel also sued Brandon for $250,000 in unpaid gambling debts, but he was able to weasel his way out of paying by claiming that he was underage at the time.
