Hong Kong police have arrested local performer Erena So on suspicion of promoting an illegal online gambling platform.
Detectives from the Kowloon West Regional Crime Unit detained the 29-year‑old in Sham Shui Po on 25th June on suspicion of “promoting or facilitating the acceptance of bets.”
The specific site is believed to be based out of Malaysia and is illegal in Hong Kong.
So was released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report to police in late July.

The arrest comes as Hong Kong police ramp up cross-departmental operations targeting illegal gambling syndicates, especially during this year's FIFA World Cup.
