Same Game Parlays have become especially popular in recent years and they continue to be in heavy demand for this year's Super Bowl

Parlays combine multiple bets into one, but each has to win in order for the full bet to pay out.  Parlays are attractive in that they feature high payout odds.

Vegas had for decades refused to accept parlay bets for the same game.  Then 2018 happened.  The US Supreme Court ruled that sports gambling could be legalized in all 50 states that wanted to do so.  Sportsbooks began offering the Same Game Parlays in states outside of Nevada.

Technology has also helped to make the SGP a reality.

"Not only did we not have the technology to automatically adjust prices, we also didn't have the know-how," long time Caesars bookmaker Art Manteris told ESPN. "Today's systems have the ability to analyze the data in real time automatically. Old-school bookmakers just couldn't do that. If you have the math and the ability to adjust, like they have today, it can be very lucrative."

FanDuel started taking Same Game Parlays back in 2019, but its sister book, Skybet, began doing so way back in 2010 in Great Britain.

"It really was as organic as that," Robert Allen, director of brand trading for Flutter, the parent company of SkyBet and FanDuel, said. "It was just designed to stimulate engagement and conversation between the brand handle and our customers."

The craze has also caught on with offshore sportsbooks like BetUS, which currently serve all US states.
