FIBA stands for the International Basketball Federation (originally Fédération Internationale de Basketball) and is recognized as the worldwide governing body for basketball, organizing international competitions and setting the rules for the sport.

Interest among people aged 16–29 grew even faster, and interest in the FIBA Basketball World Cup itself rose 33% over the previous four-year cycle.
