2027 FIBA World Cup Betting Odds

FIBA stands for the International Basketball Federation (originally Fédération Internationale de Basketball) and is recognized as the worldwide governing body for basketball, organizing international competitions and setting the rules for the sport.

Betting is expected to be quite decent ahead of the 2027 FIBA World Cup with so many qualifier matches on tap and odds available for each of them

From its inception in 1950 until 2010, the tournament was known as the FIBA World Championship.

The tournament structure is similar, but not identical, to that of the FIFA World Cup; the current format of the tournament involves 32 teams competing for the title at venues within the host nation.

Qualifier are taking place daily with wagering available at most major online sportsbooks across the globe.  In fact, a number of gambling sites are pushing this event as a way of capitalizing on the FIFA World Cup.

The current qualifiers period is as follows:

3 (current)June 29 – July 7, 2026
4Aug. 24 – Sept. 1, 2026
5Nov. 23 – Dec. 1, 2026
6Feb. 22 – Mar. 2, 2027

These are your early odds-on favorites to win the 2027 FIBA World Cup championship:

United States
Canada
France
Serbia
Germany
Spain
Australia

The U.S. is currently considered to have the deepest player pool in the world. If many NBA stars participate, Team USA is usually the team to beat.

Australia is known to be a consistent medal contender with a veteran core and strong international program.

And some dark horses:

Slovenia
Lithuania
Greece
Italy
Brazil

FIBA commissioned a Nielsen Fan Insights study after the 2023 World Cup that found basketball interest increased from 68% to 74% across the surveyed markets between 2019 and 2023—equating to more than 3.3 billion basketball fans worldwide. Interest among people aged 16–29 grew even faster, and interest in the FIBA Basketball World Cup itself rose 33% over the previous four-year cycle.
