Cameroon vs. Japan World Cup odds came in with Cameroon the even odds favorite at Sportsbook.com and Japan paying just shy of US$30 for every US$10 should they win.  The draw would pay out slightly better than 2/1 odds.

Better than 70 percent of the public was backing Cameroon to win this one.  On Sunday, the public won with two matchups, Slovenia and Germany.  Only 20 percent of the public had backed Ghana, which ultimately went on to shock the Serbia side as +290 underdogs.

Cameroon's Indomitable Lions look set to feast on struggling Japan when they meet in their opening World Cup match on Monday (1400 GMT), the local Cameroon newspapers were reporting.

Cameroon has a strong reputation among the African countries when it comes to World Cups.  They reached the quarter-finals in the 1990 tournament.  Since then, the club has not been so hot.  That could be changing now.

From CameroonOnline.org:

"But spearheaded by striker Samuel Eto'o, they have rediscovered their roar under coach Paul Le Guen and will carry the hopes of many people not just in Cameroon but across the African continent as it hosts its first World Cup."

Japan comes in as the biggest underdog among the Group E teams to win the group stage at +1200 or 12/1.  Cameroon would pay out US$50 for every US$10 bet should they win the Group State E.
