Colombia vs. Ivory Coast Betting Odds, Predictions

Colombia vs. Ivory Coast betting odds had Colombia as the 11/10 slight favorite with Ivory Coast at 11/4 odds and the Draw at 5/2.  Half of those betting this matchup in Europe were backing the Colombians.  That number was closer to 65% in North America.  Bookmaker was taking action on this matchup and offering up to US$2500 in FREE CASH here.

This will be the first ever game between Colombia and Ivory Coast.

Colombia's record against African sides at the World Cup is balanced with one defeat (against Cameroon in 1990) and one win (against Tunisia in 1998).

Ivory Coast’s two previous World Cup games against South American sides both ended in defeats (1-2 v Argentina in 2006 and 1-3 v Brazil in 2010).

Colombia registered their best result at the World Cup in their last game against Greece (3-0).

Of special note to gamblers betting this game live, seven of Ivory Coast's 11 goals at the World Cup have been scored after the 60th minute of games.  A good play here would be a small wager on Ivory Coast scoring after this period.

Ivory Coast have failed to score once in their seven World Cup games (0-0 v Portugal in 2010).

Colombia beat Greece despite being hampered by injuries.  They are fortunate to have drawn into Group C but Ivory Coast should provide them with their biggest test of the Group stage.

Despite those injuries, Colombia still has a strong foundation and players who can excel at the attack like Teofilo "Teo" Gutierrez and Jackson Martinez.  Another attacker, Carlos Bacca, is out after suffering a leg muscle strain during practice on Sunday.

"We have high expectations," Colombia coach Jose Pekerman said on Friday.ahead of his team's clash with Greece. "We have enough quality to represent Colombia in the best possible way.

"We have many players that play in European clubs and that experience has allowed us to assemble a team that plays together rather than one that relies on individual play."

The Ivory Coast team may have a stronger attack, however, which brings into question Colombia’s depth.

Anticipate Jackson Martinez to be brought on early for Colombia.  He has scored 46 goals with Portugal over the past two years.

One would suspect that the Ivory Coast has the upper hand in this matchup and indeed pays better odds than the Draw.
