A lost bet apparently resulted in the Croatia World Cup team naked hotel swimming pool romp that was filmed by the Brazilian media.  Details of the bet in question were not immediately known.

The Croatians refused to comment on the situation after it was learned that photographers hid in bushes to take the shock photos.

“The players are not going to give any more interviews. Imagine their side of things. They have families who viewed the photos. It is a difficult time for them and they will not give any more interviews. They were nervous with this situation. They have sons, daughters, it’s embarrassing,” said the Croatian coach, Niko Kovac.

The pictures featured international defenders Vedran Corluka and Dejan Lovren — from behind or covering private parts with hands while another player, Luka Modric, remained in his swim trunks.

Croatia lost to host Brazil in the first game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
