No love for Australia at this year’s FIFA World Cup.  The Australia vs. Chile match has the Socceroos as a huge 7/1 odds underdog.   Chile had odds of -216.  The Draw would pay out just over $30 for every $10 bet.

There’s a reason why the Aussies are such big underdogs to win this year’s Soccer World Cup.  In their group, the reigning champions Spain, a Holland squad that comes into each World Cup strong and a very formidable Chile side.

This is Australia’s third straight year in the World Cup following a dry spell that lasted from 1974 to 2006.

Australian Ange Postecoglou becomes the first A-league boss to win the national job.  He’s also the third coach in their last three World Cup appearances. Brett Holman is indeed a scoring threat for the Socceroos.

Chile performed quite well in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and appear to be an even better squad.  Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez is the man to watch.  He also led the team four years ago.

The attacking ability of Chile will likely be too much for the Aussie side to handle when all is said and done.
