The Switzerland team was stunning World Cup favorites Spain early on with a 1-0 lead at the start of the second half with a Gelson Fernandes goal in the 52nd minute.  They held on to win their match against Spain in an absolute shocker, one of the biggest in World Cup history.

Spain entered this competition as 3/1 favorites to win the 2010 World Cup.  Switzerland was a 100/1 long shot at betED.com.

Spain had dominated possession until Fernandes took advantage of a loose ball.

Spain has been in more World Cups than any other nation without actually ever winning.

The Swiss are lead by legendary manager Ottmar Hitzfeld and they will be quietly confident that his nous and experience can help steer them into second place in Group H, the BBC suggested coming into this game.
