Portugal got crushed in their Group G opener against the Germans while the USA proved that three times is the charm after finally defeating Ghana in their third meeting of the last three World Cups.

The overall record between Portugal and the USA is perfectly balanced with two wins each, one draw and five goals apiece.

USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann is expected to select Aaron Johannsson in place of the injured Jozy Altidore, who suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of the game against Ghana.  Losing Altidore was a big blow to the US team but they still managed a 2-1 win against their World Cup nemesis.

Klinsmann has warned his squad not to become complacent against Portugal.

"Now (Portugal) are going to come into Manaus pretty angry and I don't know how Ronaldo is going to perform when he is angry," Klinsmann said. "We need to show Portugal how good we are."

Jurgen Klinsmann beat Portugal 3-1 when head coach of Germany at the 2006 World Cup in the third-place play-off.

The USA have scored in their last seven World Cup games.

Portugal's only win in the last eight matches at the World Cup was 7-0 over North Korea in 2010.

Below the video preview you will find the updated odds to win the 2014 World Cup.
