2014, 2015 NFL betting odds for the Tampa Bay Bucs had this team at 8/1 odds of winning the NFC South, 80/1 odds of winning the 2015 Super Bowl and they were favored to win OVER 7 regular season wins with a pretty steep price tag no less of -140.  Yes, the oddsmakers believe these Bucs will win at least 8 games in 2014.

So what exactly went wrong last year?

Drew Magary of DeadSpin.com writes:

They rigged captain votes. They leaked drug test results to the media. Their players mutinied, which is fitting for a pirate-themed football team. They cut their franchise quarterback in the middle of the season. Coaches yelled at players for daring to exhibit basic human decency.

This year, the Bucs have brought in long time Bears coach Lovie Smith.

Magary notes:

It's a telling sign when you can hire a notoriously bad game manager and everyone agrees that it's a MASSIVE upgrade over the previous administration.

The Bucs starting quarterback position is also questionable and that can’t bode well for a team’s chances.

That UNDER is looking mighty good about now.

NFL betting used to be built mostly around teams. Bettors looked at spreads, totals, moneylines, injuries, weather and coaching matchups. Those pieces are still there, but the modern football betting board is much more player-driven than it used to be.
