Despite a lackluster season last year, the Atlanta Falcons were coming in with an OVER/UNDER 8.5 with both priced at -115.
Here’s an interesting little factoid:
Since 2008, Atlanta owns a 33-24 (.579) record against its 2014 opponents while head coach Mike Smith is 12-1 against first time NFL head coaches. His team will face two of those a la Minnesota and Cleveland.
The Falcons will face four playoff teams from 2013 on the road, both of which play in the same division (New Orleans and Carolina). They will face these two teams at home as well. Assuming Atlanta gets its act together, this Falcons team enjoyed a stellar home record over previous seasons.
The Falcons will also travel to Green Bay (Week 14) and Cincinnati (Week 2).

The Baltimore Ravens will likely be without one of their big stars Ray Rice for at least two games following an offseason altercation with his fiancé (now wife). This hasn’t affected the odds much as they are priced at -145 to win OVER 8.5 regular season games in a tight division. The UNDER pays $115 for every $100 bet.
Baltimore was not a bad team last year and probably played up to early season expectations following a Super Bowl championship. Baltimore lost some key components coming into the 2013 regular season so their odds of a second straight championship were greatly diminished.
The additions of former Houston head coach Gary Kubiak as offensive coordinator are likely to pay big dividends early on. The signing of Steve Smith was also seen as a positive.

The Bills Draft choices give them plenty of hope for the chance to win at least nine regular season games, especially in a division where two franchises remain questionable and New England has seen better days.
The Playoffs?
Without a proven starting quarterback, those chances seem unlikely.
