Notice the change in year from 2022 to 2023 as Week 17 NFL mostly kicks of January 1, New Year's Day.  We have your hot line trends along with overlays and underlays.

Cardinals vs. Falcons - a meaningless game to most but the sports bettors.  Arizona has gone from +3 to +6.  Our number is 0.47 Atlanta, indicating an overlay of 2.5 to 5.5.  Colt McCoy will start for Arizona.  He has completed 68.2 percent of his passes for 780 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions in four games this season.  Overlays where the line is 3/3.5 and greater have gone 20-5 in favor of the dog Against The Spread, making the Cardinals a pretty decent pick at +6.

Bears vs. Lions - The Lions will need to defeat the Bears in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. Detroit remained a half-game behind Washington for the final wild-card spot, while tied with both Seattle and Green Bay. They will face the Packers in their season finale next week.  The line on this game has moved from Bears +5.5 to +6 and we get a number of 7.43.  That gives us an underlay of 1.5 to 2 points.  The dog has done especially well where the number is 5.5/6 this season.  Using the current spread, Chicago is 9-0 Against The Spread in the last nine meetings.

Jaguars vs. Texans - This one seemingly came out of nowhere but the Jaguars are on the cusp of making the playoffs. The Jaguars will play for the AFC South title and a playoff spot at home in Week 18 against the reeling Tennessee Titans no matter what happens in this game.  The Jaguars (7-8) have won four of their last five, including a 19-3 road win last Thursday over the New York Jets.  Jacksonville is a -3 road favorite after opening the week -4.5.  We get a number of 4.66, which puts this one on the money, at least in terms of the opening number.  There is now a 1.5 underlay.  These underlays in this line range have been especially good for the favorite so do take Jacksonville -3 here.

Broncos vs. Chiefs - The line here has gone from Denver +12.5 to +13.  The Kansas City Chiefs are shooting for their 15th straight win over Denver.  This is not a meaningless game for the Chiefs as they are fighting for the top seed in the AFC.  We get a number of 10.46, suggesting an overlay of between 2 and 2.5 points.

Dolphins vs. Patriots - This one has gone from Dolphins +1.5 to +3 and back down to +2.5.  We get a number of Patriots 2.95.  The number has mostly been on the money.  In this range, 3/2.5 and below, the favorite where the line is considered to be accurate has gone 14-5 Against The Spread.  Sorry Miami, the Patriots look good here even at -2.5.

Colts vs. Giants - The line was +3 to +5.5 Colts.  Our number is 2.65 Giants.  That means this one opened with an accurate number and we now have an overlay of 3.  The dog gets the edge with these overlays in this line range so do consider Indianapolis here.

Saints vs. Eagles - It's remarkable to think that the Saints are still in this thing at 6-9.  They can still make the playoffs with a win over the Eagles.  They're out otherwise.  The line is +7 to +5.5.  We get a number of 8.43.  That's an underlay of 1.5 to 3.  The sampling is relatively small but underlays in this line range provide the favorite with a slight edge.  Eagles -5.5 is tempting.  One trend we would focus on here is the Saints going 0-4 Against The Spread in their last 4 games following a ATS win.  This just seems to be such a consistent trend. The Eagles, meanwhile, are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Panthers vs. Bucs - If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon, they'll capture the NFC South title and secure a home playoff game.  The number has gone from Carolina +5.5 to +3 and back up to +3.5.  Our number is 4.65.  This pretty much puts it right in the middle of the actual movement.  We see a 1-point overlay or an underlay depending on the day of the week.

Browns vs. Commanders - One can get Cleveland at either +1.5 or +2.5 depending on the book.  Washington is very much in the playoff picture. But the Browns should actually be favored here.  We get them at a number of 0.13.  Cleveland is a powerful play here at +2.5
