College Football Playoffs

We finally got to see a highly-competitive and exciting CFP quarterfinal game. Ole Miss was able to avenge their regular season loss to Georgia, winning 39-34 in a rollercoaster battle.

Coach Pete Golding is attempting to do the “Steve Fisher…” winning a championship after the current coach left during the season.

On Friday night, Miami controlled the defending national champions, Ohio State, from start to finish. I guess they deserved to be in the field!

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have reopened (they had lookahead lines) the line for Ole Miss and Miami and the line has held steady.

Miami vs Ole Miss (+3, 52)

Note: The line re-opened today at Ole Miss +3 and has stayed there. The total opened at 51.5, The lookahead line was Ole Miss +1.5.

To quote Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Big Ten “pulled out a can of whoopass” yesterday beating their two quarterfinal opponents by a combined score of 61-3.

Oregon started the day off shutting out Texas Tech 23-0, bringing teams that have the first-round bye in the 12-Team Playoff to 0-6.

Indiana, the #1 seed, ended that 0-6 losing streak by bludgeoning Alabama 38-3. And with that victory, the Big Ten is guaranteed to have a team represented in the College Football Playoff Championship game.

Oregon has a chance to avenge their only loss this season when they hosted Indiana on October 11 and lost 30-20. That was only Oregon’s second home loss of this decade (lost to Washington 37-34 in 2022).

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have re-opened (they had lookahead lines) the line for Indiana and Oregon and we’ve already seen lots of movement.
