Probably one of the most anticipated games of the week, the 49ers-Lions point spread was now at -4 favoring Detroit with nearly 85 percent of the spread action on San Francisco.  The line on this game initially opened at -5.

The Lions come into this game undefeated while the 49ers are another of this season’s big surprises at 4-1.  Matthew Stafford’s team will face a San Francisco defense that ranks 2nd in the league with a combined 22 interceptions and passes defended using a standard pass rush while 49ers quarterback Alex Smith will face a Lions defense that uses a standard pass rush on 84.4 percent of dropbacks, more than any other NFL team this season, according to ESPN.com.

At home in San Francisco in 2009 and 2008, respectively, the 49ers were able to beat Detroit.  Both teams are completely revamped since that time.

The Lions are 14-4-3 Against The Spread in their last 21 vs. NFC.

The Lions are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a home favorite.

Detroit is 10-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

The Lions are 10-0-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. win.

The 49ers are 11-4-3 ATS in their last 18 games as an underdog.

San Francisco is 6-22-4 ATS in their last 32 games following a SU win of more than 14 points.
