The Alabama-Ole Miss betting line for this weekend’s game demonstrates the lack of confidence oddsmakers have in the 0-4 Against The Spread Crimson Tide, who are -6.5 road favorites hereIt also shows that the oddsmakers are taking Ole Miss seriously this season.

And why not?

The Rebels, like Alabama, are 4-0 Straight Up on the season but, unlike the Tide, are 3-0-1 Against The Spread whereas Alabama has only won a single game ATS.  The Tide were off last week and previously demolished Florida.

ESPN.com notes that Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace has already thrown six interceptions, but the Rebels’ defense has been relentless, and it will be tested just as Alabama’s offense is starting to hit its stride.

Alabama has owned this series and is 10-0 Straight Up vs. Ole Miss over the last ten in this series, including a shutout last season.

The Crimson Tide were seeing close to 90% of the action when this number was on -6.

Some books opened this one at Alabama -4.5 and the trend has been towards the number 7 ever since.  A handful of online books have hit that number but most were still hanging around -6 and -6.5.
