Alabama vs. South Carolina Spread
The Alabama vs. South Carolina spread continued to sit at Alabama -7 as of Thursday evening. Some 95 percent of gamblers were backing the Crimson Tide in this game. A number of online sportsbooks had temporarily taken this one off the board however. BetED.com was still offering the -7 point line as of press time 10 pm EST.
The reason for the hesitation from online sportsbooks is concern over Alabama number one wide receiver Julio Jones’ bruised knee, which head coach Nick Saban insists should be fully healed come game time Saturday. Jones is leading the Tide with 24 catches for 322 yards and 2 touchdowns.
"I really think our team is progressing," Saban said. "Each week you have a new challenge and you learn more about your team. So far we've responded fairly well, but not consistently all the time and that is something we have to continue to work on."
The Gamecocks are sure to test Alabama this weekend, something Florida failed to do a few days ago. South Carolina is the third straight ranked opponent Alabama is facing.
"I think the biggest thing is being able to continue to challenge yourself and challenge each other to improve and play to a standard, and I think that's what we really want to try to do here,” Saban said.
Some important Alabama vs. South Carolina trends to consider before betting on this 7 point spread:

The Gamecocks are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss.
Line history on this game has seen a one point drop since opening at -8.
