Betfair, the world’s largest betting exchange, has ended its two-year sponsorship deal with the championship Barcelona football club.

120x60 £

Betfair had previously spent significant marketing dollars on forging partnerships with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United as well as its sponsorship of Ascot Racecourse.

The company disclosed it will continue to be Man United’s official betting partner during the upcoming season.  Betfair has also brought on former England cricketer Michael Vaughan, retired rugby star Will Greenwood, ex-footballer, and now pundit, Lee Dixon and horse trainer Paul Nicholls to represent its brand.

A Betfair spokesman said: 'Betfair is evolving the way we leverage our sponsor- ship assets to prioritise social platforms, and help build engagement with existing and (potential) customers.'
