The CFP National Championship Game betting line opened at -7.5 at some books but quickly dropped the half point to -7.  Bookmaker.eu, in business since 1986, has held pat on an Oregon -7 line over the past 12 hours since the Playoff opponents were determined.

And those two teams are the Oregon Ducks and upset-minded Ohio State Buckeyes.

Oregon had no trouble dismantling Florida State New Year’s night by a final score of 59-20.

FSU had entered this game undefeated but the more telling record was their inability to cover spreads throughout the course of this past season.  The Seminoles had only paid out in three games.

Ohio State, meanwhile, stunned mighty number one-ranked Alabama with a 42-35 win.

Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer likes his chances of beating Oregon in the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship.

"We're good enough,'' he said. "That was a sledgehammer game. That was a classic.''

The betting public is not so sure.  70% of the early action was on Oregon to cover the -7 point spread.

With the Buckeyes win Urban Meyer has now won more than 84 percent of his games as a head coach, the fourth-best mark in FBS history and best by any coach in the last 60 years.
