With San Diego making the long trek to the East Coast against one of the toughest teams in the NFL, oddmakers have posted a line on the Chargers-Patriots game at -8 in favor of New England, though some books were offering this one at -7. New England has won 4 of the last 5 in this series dating back to 1997 though the Chargers have covered 3 of those using the current spread. The two home games, however, were both won by the Patriots, who also managed to cover the current spread.

“While the defense remains a work in progress, the Patriots’ offense is downright scary and it is hard to imagine the Chargers slowing them down after what they did to Miami. San Diego has a ton of talent and should be able to keep this one close early on, but it could be tough for them to keep up with the New England juggernaut throughout the entire game.”
