Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers

With most of the online sportsbooks holding steady at San Francisco -3, the Chicago Bears vs. San Francisco 49ers line was fast moving to -3 ½ at a number of bookmakers heading into mid afternoon.  This was a Thursday night game.  With that move, under 60 percent of the backing was now going towards the 49ers compared to 65 percent on the -3 number.

SBG Global was still holding steady at San Francisco -3 as of 2 pm EST.

The trend suggests San Francisco will likely cover.

Chicago has dominated over the last three games in this series, but the home team is 6-0 with San Francisco last beating the Bears as a host in 2003 by a score of 49-7.

This game can be seen on the NFL Network and it is the first of many games set to be televised on the network in the next couple of months.

San Francisco started the season 3-1 but has lost their last four in a row including last week against Tennessee. Quarterback Alex Smith threw three interceptions and fumbled twice in the loss.  "It's definitely frustrating to be at this point, but we do have eight games left," head coach Mike Singletary said. "We have to make sure we go out and play a complete football game without killing ourselves in the process."

This could be a high scoring game on Thursday considering Chicago's defense has been terrible. The Bears gave up 438 yards last week in the loss to Arizona. The Bears started 3-1 this season but have lost three of their last four. "Don't have a lot of reasons to give you why we played that way," Chicago coach Lovie Smith said after the loss to Arizona, "I know we're a better football team than that. But of course, our play didn't say that." Chicago's defense has been gouged for 514 rushing yards in their last three games and that figures to be a problem since the 49ers have Frank Gore.

Chicago will look to give quarterback Jay Cutler time to throw on Thursday. He has been sacked 19 times already this season.  "We're 4-4, so we're even with eight to play," said Cutler, "It's not where we want to be, but it could be worse. We got to pull it together. We got some tough games coming up and some games that we got to win immediately, starting Thursday."
