Colts Texans Point Spread has Indianapolis as a 2 Point Dog

Houston is struggling, which makes this Colts Texans point spread a little bit peculiar.  Indianapolis, with its 5-2 record, comes into this game as a +2 road dog against a team that is 2-5 (1-6 Against The Spread).  The public also loves Indianapolis, backing them at an 80 percent clip.  So what gives?

It might have something to do with the home team being 6-0 in this series and having won 8 of the last 10.  The Colts, however, have won 7 of the last 9 in this series.  Oh, and did we mention they have won 18 of the last 22 meetings?

It is also noteworthy that the Texans come into this game having lost five consecutive games overall.

Undrafted free agent Case Keenum will earn his second career start for Houston even with Matt Schaub now healthy.  There are backfield injuries to Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs), which resulted in the signing of three new running backs in recent days.  Houston's top-ranked defense (267.7 yards per game) lost star linebacker Brian Cushing (knee) for the season in the last game.

The Colts are 5-0 Against The Spread in their last 5 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game.

The Colts are 8-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Indianapolis is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.

The Colts are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

Indianapolis is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. AFC South.

The Texans are 1-6 Against The Spread in their last 7 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
