Cowboys-Colts Line Very Fluid

As of Saturday evening, the Cowboys-Colts line was listed anywhere from Indianapolis -4.5 to -6.  There was obviously an opportunity to bet both sides of this game at two different books with a sweet payout should the Colts win by 5 points.  Just over 80 percent of the spread action was on Indianapolis.  The total of 47.5 had a little more than 65 percent of the public backing.  There was even action on the money line.

Both Dallas and Indianapolis lost their respective games with neither team living up to the hype coming into the 2010 regular NFL season.

The Cowboys just narrowly lost to New Orleans at home during Thanksgiving Day.  That resulted in the Cowboys four-game Thanksgiving Day win streak being snapped.  The Cowboys, who are used to coming back from double digit deficits, sent David Buehler to try a 59-yard field goal that would have pushed that game into overtime. His was no good with 25 seconds left.

For the Colts, their 14-36 home loss to the Chargers was a little more embarrassing. Sunday night's loss was the worst home defeat for the Colts in Peyton Manning's 13-year career in Indianapolis.  He threw four interceptions.

"San Diego did a good job," Manning said. "Offensively, we didn't do a real good job. I didn't do a real good job. Everybody needs to play better, I need to play better, our execution needs to improve."

The Colts remain tied atop the competitive AFC South with Jacksonville.

Here are some important betting trends coming into this game.

The Cowboys are 3-11 Against The Spread in their last 14 games in December.  The Colts are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in December.  (edge: Colts)

The Colts are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.

The Colts are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss.

The Colts are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home.

If betting this game, one might want to consider the OVER.  Dallas this season is 9-2 on the OVER.  The Over is 5-0 in Cowboys last 5 games following a S.U. loss.  The Over is 7-3 in Colts last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.
