Cowboys vs. Giants Spread at New York -4: First Test for the Bookmakers

After a decent Week 1 in College Football for the online bookmakers with a Boise State cover and Penn State failing to do so, bookies are hoping for this trend to continue with the Cowboys vs. Giants spread seeing lopsided action from the betting public.

60 percent of those betting the Cowboys-Giants were backing New York to cover the 4 point spread.

The line on this game initially opened at -3 with most books quickly moving to -3.5.

New York was listed as the -4 favorite across the board now.

For Totals bettors the OVER/UNDER featured the number 44.5 with around 60 percent on the OVER.

Money line gamblers were going against the spread trend by backing Dallas to win outright with a potential payout of $18 on every $10 bet at WagerWeb.com

Future betting was still available with New York an 18/1 long shot to win a second consecutive Super Bowl and Dallas at 20/1 odds.  The Giants would pay close to 2/1 odds with an NFC East win, which happens to be pretty good value.  Dallas pays just a little more than 2/1.
