Fading the Public Pays Off for Sports Bettors This NFL Season

NFL teams garnering a consensus of 60 percent or higher are just 9-21 against the spread, this according to a report filed by covers.com Friday.

The larger consensus the better the results for those wagering against them.

NFL teams attracting between 60 and 64 percent of bets are a collective 4-8 ATS while those attracting between 65 and 69 percent are a horrid 3-10 ATS.

Should that trend continue, gamblers should pay special attention to The Minnesota Vikings, seeing just shy of 30% public backing as a +3 underdog against Green Bay.

The New Orleans Saints are another team that deserve a look versus the Detroit Lions.  New Orleans is a -4.5 home favorite but seeing just under 35% of the betting action.

Do consider the Browns this week as they were seeing a meager 34% of the public support as a +9.5 road dog against Houston.
