The Falcons-Seahawks line opened at -7 in favor of the red hot traveling Falcons, though a few books were offering the line at -6.  80 percent of the spread action was going Atlanta’s way while around 70 percent of the money line backing was on Atlanta.  The total was 45.5 with around 80 percent of those betting the OVER.  It should be noted that the Falcons were the most bet on team in the NFL coming into Saturday.

While Atlanta has all but sealed its fate with a Playoffs berth possible this week.  They have the best record in the NFL (11-2) tied with New England, the Seahawks are very much in contention for the Playoffs as well despite their 6-7 record.  Seattle plays in the weakest division, the NFC West. The 49ers (5-9) could wind up 7-9 and in a three-way tie and still win the NFC West.  For the time being, the Seahawks are keeping a watchful eye over the Rams, who have an identical 6-7 record.

"With three NFC games left, it's important. All the games are big now," defensive end John Abraham said after last Sunday's 31-10 win at Carolina. "All the games can put us in a good situation. We want to have that home-field advantage and for us we have to keep winning."

The Seahawks have only two victories in their last seven games after showing some promise earlier in the season.  Their only wins over that stretch were against Carolina at home and Arizona in a rare road win.

Needless-to-say, the Seahawks record Against The Spread vs. winning teams is a mere 5-15-1 ATS.  Here, Atlanta has a tremendous advantage coming into this game.

The Seahawks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss. The Falcons, meanwhile, are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.  Atlanta is also 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a SU win of more than 14 points.

Other important trends to consider before betting on this game:

The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog.

The Falcons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

The Falcons are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.
