With Brett Favre officially announcing he will be the Minnesota Vikings quarterback this season, BetUS.com suggests that the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are cringing at the thought. The Packers odds of winning the division remain about even along with the Vikings.
“I know that the whole Brett Favre drama is enough to drive any sports fan crazy, but nobody is more upset about the news than the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers,” says Tim Furious of BetUS.com. “With him back, the Packers and Bears become immediate stay away bets in the NFL Futures.”
One would think the Packers division odds would get somewhat longer prior to the start of the season, so Packers backers might want to wait before placing a bet, but Furious says “Why bother”.
“People can like Green Bay all they want, but the Vikings have the quarterback that they wanted back. Green Bay will have to wait another year to try and turn the corner as they share the top-spot for the NFC North in NFL Division winners betting with Minnesota at +105.”
