Monday Night Football on ESPN gets a special NFC North Division matchup that is one of the oldest rivalries in all of sports. Beyond that it will also be a matchup of two undefeated NFL teams as the Chicago Bears will host the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff Monday is set for 8:40 PM Eastern.
Packers are - 3 point favorite with total of 46 at SBG Global.com
The Green Bay Packers are looking to be in Super Bowl form as they are 2-0 both straight up and against the spread after last week’s 34-7 blowout win over the Buffalo Bills in which they easily covered the spread as 12.5-point home favorites as the game stayed under the number. Green Bay is yet to go over the total this football betting season. Aaron Rodgers passed for 19-29 good for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns while the defense suffocated the Bills offense. The one concern for the Packers continues to be the ground attack as Ryan Grant is out for the season due to an ankle injury and Green Bay was sluggish last week running the ball.
The Packers defense has been solid overall this year as it ranks 3rd overall for total yards and 7th for points allowed. However Green Bay ranks 28th in the NFL against the run and that must improve if they are to go on to the NFC championship.
The Chicago Bears are looking great after their 27-20 win at Dallas as 7 point dogs last week to improve to 2-0 both straight up and against the spread. Quarterback Jay Cutler is responding well to new offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Last week Cutler was 21-29 for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns and he has a phenomenal 121.2 QB rating after two weeks of action with a 5/1 touchdown to interception ratio and a 69% completion rate. Cutler is averaging 10.1 yards per attempt.
While the Bears defense is ranked 12th overall it is a weak 27th against the pass which is of concern against Rodgers and the Pack.
Green Bay has gotten the money in 4 consecutive matchups against the Bears as they swept the season series last year. The Pack has gotten the money in 10 out of their last 13 games in the NFC North while Chicago has covered just 3 out of their last 11 conference games.
