Houston Texans Odds to Win 2014 Super Bowl – Regular Season Win Totals Betting
The Houston Texans odds to win the 2014 Super Bowl were set at 16/1 while their regular season wins total betting odds were at OVER/UNDER 9.5 with nearly all the bets coming in on the OVER priced at -165. The UNDER would pay out $14.50 for every $10 bet.
Sporting News notes that the Texans have enough talent on either side of the ball to be genuine Super Bowl contenders. Players who left for free agency were replaced and they have a solid history of drafting well. The key to going deep into the Playoffs is the consistency of starting quarterback Matt Schaub and the team’s ability to win on the road.
As for the OVER/UNDER, Houston should be able to win all three of their division home games plus a road game against Jacksonville.
The Texans, in theory, should also be able to win home games against Seattle, St. Louis and Oakland.
They also have games on the road against teams that played under .500 football last season including San Diego, Kansas City and Arizona.
It is very easy to see Houston winning OVER 9.5 regular season games in 2013. Too bad for the price, but still might be worth it.
