Houston Texans Odds to Win the 2016 Super Bowl, AFC South

The Houston Texans odds to win the 2016 Super Bowl were coming in at 60-1 with oddsmakers believing that the Colts will have dominance in the otherwise weak AFC South division.  The Texans would pay $600 for every $100 bet with a division win.

Houston does lack depth at some positions so any key injuries could see this team’s success plunging. They also cut 18 players a week before the start of the 2015 season.

The biggest concern will be at the quarterback position.  Brian Hoyer, who had some success taking Cleveland to a level they haven’t been at in over a decade, will start for Houston.  Hoyer’s knowledge of Texans coach Bill O’Brien’s system is strong, too, thanks in part to their time together in New England, USA Today points out.  They still have Ryan Mallett waiting in the wings if needed.

Another major concern is running back Arian Foster’s absence from the team early on.  After suffering a groin injury, there were initial fears Foster might be out for the entire season.  Odds are looking good he may return by Week 3.

If Hoyer excels and Foster returns by Week 3 there is no reason to believe the Houston Texans can’t make it into the post season.
