Iowa Hawkeyes Football: Still Getting 75 Percent of the Action

The Iowa Hawkeyes football team is in the spotlight this weekend thanks to an incredible number of bets coming in on the +2 underdog.  They face Arizona U later Saturday night. 

“The bookmakers will get crushed should Arizona win this one by more than 2 points,” said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com. 

At one point during the week, Iowa was getting more than 85 percent of the betting action here.

Arizona may have a tough time with Iowa, ESPN.com suggests.

While the Hawkeyes' offense has surprised, it is their defense that's their calling card. That defense, No. 9 in the country, faces a test in Arizona and QB Nick Foles. Foles completed 83 percent of his passes as the Wildcats scored 93 in their first two games.

“Oddsmakers are encouraging action to come in on Iowa it would seem” suggests Shapiro. 

Iowa beat Arizona at home by 10 points last year.

The Hawkeyes have some very impressive stats going in their favor.

They are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record, 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games, 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.

Iowa is also 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win, 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games., 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and 12-3 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
