Appearing in San Francisco Wednesday before a crowd of crazed San Francisco 49ers fans readying for their team to take on the New York Giants this upcoming weekend, US Vice President Joe Biden boldly proclaimed:  “The Giants are heading to the Super Bowl”.

Can you say “Major League Gaffe”.

Biden was already thinking baseball apparently.  The Giants are San Fran’s baseball team.

He was then showered with boos and quickly corrected himself.

The “49ers on their way” to the Big Game, Biden said.

Sportsbook.com has released its Super Bowl lines on possible matchups that include both the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers meeting each of the remaining AFC teams.

The 49ers would be a +6.5 underdog vs. New England and a +2 underdog vs. the Ravens.  The Giants would be +4.5 against New England and a 1-point favorite against Baltimore.  New York was currently ranging from a +1.5 to +2.5 underdog against the San Francisco 49ers heading into this weekend’s NFC Championship game.

Joe Biden is a "Gaffe Machine"
