LSU vs. Alabama College Football odds opened at Crimson Tide -9 ½ and have quickly moved down to -7 ½ including at Sports Interaction. The books seem to believe LSU has a good shot of covering here. So too do the sports bettors as nearly 70 percent were siding with LSU on the spread.

LSU has won 5 of the last 6 in this series. Their loss came during the last meeting but that one went into overtime. Alabama was a -3 road favorite in that one.

Scouts.com believes strongly that Alabama has a solid edge in this game:

Jefferson and the LSU offense have gained much-needed confidence thanks to consecutive strong outings versus weak competition. False bravado won't help much against Alabama's stingy defense, though. The Crimson Tide offense has plenty of concerns of its own and LSU has enough talent on defense to make things difficult. However, Alabama might be a bit sharper on this side of the ball following the bye week. McElroy needed time to step back and take a breather and two of his top targets -- Jones and Peek -- should return healthier and with fresher legs. And speaking of legs, once the Tide gets out to a lead it will count on a well-rested Ingram to chew up the clock in the second half.
