The Michigan vs. MSU point spread was coming in at Spartans -4.5.  This promises to be a great game as both schools have only one loss apiece.  70 percent of those betting this game were backing the Spartans. This is a classic Big 10 rivalry that Michigan State University has won 4 of the last 5 times, but exercise caution here as that one loss occurred last season.  The Wolverines pulled off a 2-point win last year.

Michigan has not looked especially sharp on the road and this will only be their third game away from home.  The Wolverines just barely won against a winless Connecticut team on the road.

“I think any time you play away from home, it just is part of it, to make sure that our focus and discipline as a team has to be spot-on for us to go out and compete at our highest level,” Michigan head coach Brady Hoke said.

Against The Spread, the Wolverines are 4-11-1 in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 road games.  The trend may be offset by the Spartans 3-10 ATS home record in their last 13 games.

The Wolverines are also just 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

As for the Spartans, their starting quarterback, Connor Cook, went 15-16 for 208 yards in last week’s 42-3 triumph over Illinois.

MSU surrenders an average of 215.5 yards, leading the FBS in total defense.

Just a quick note: Michigan TE A.J. Williams (violation of team rules) will serve a one-game suspension.

Spartans are 16-4-2 Against The Spread in their last 22 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games following a ATS win.
