The New York Giants vs. New Orleans Saints betting odds had the Saints as a -7.5 home favorite, moving up a mere half point during the course of this past week.

Sportsbook.com Line & Total: New Orleans -7.5 & 51

Opening Line & Total: Saints -7 & 51

Two NFC heavyweights collide on Monday Night Football when the Saints look for their third win in a row, while the Giants try to avoid a third consecutive loss.

New York’s difficult second half schedule continues with a trip to New Orleans to face the well-rested Saints coming off a bye week. QB Eli Manning is enjoying his best season, but he’s been getting back into the bad habit of throwing off his back foot (4 INT in past three weeks), and that’s a problem against a blitz-happy Saints defense with ball hawks in the secondary. The Giants also have several key injury concerns, as RBs Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) and Danny Ware (concussion), TE Jake Ballard (elbow), LB Michael Boley (hamstring) and S Derrick Martin (hamstring) are all questionable to play.

The potential return of RB Ahmad Bradshaw could be a big boost against a Saints defense that struggles against the run (122 YPG, 19th in NFL). Bradshaw has missed the past three games with a foot injury and the Giants have gained just 233 yards on the ground (3.1 YPC) since he went down. Manning, who was born in New Orleans, has not enjoyed facing his hometown team. In three career meetings with the Saints, he has completed 36-of-80 passes (45 percent) for 417 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT. Although Manning’s Monday record is a stellar 7-2, his QB rating on Monday Night Football is a mediocre 82.3 (17 TD, 14 INT).

QB Drew Brees and the Saints offense are as good as ever, leading the NFL with 437 total YPG. Brees has connected on 76% of his pass attempts at the Superdome, throwing 13 TD and just 3 INT in these home games. He has also shined on Monday Night Football, going 7-4 and averaging 277 passing YPG with 19 TD and 13 INT. The Giants have been below average in both facets of the defense, surrendering 123 rushing YPG (21st in NFL) and 239 passing YPG (18th in league). They are tied for the league lead in sacks though, tallying 31 so far this season.
