Monday Night Football: Eagles vs. Redskins Odds

Monday Night Football Eagles vs. Redskins odds had Philadelphia as an -8 favorite in Washington at BetUS.com.   This line opened at -5 but much has happened in Washington since prompting nearly 90 percent of gamblers to side with the Eagles in this one.

Much of the hoopla surrounding the Redskins revolves around news that someone in charge of hosting Bingo games will be doing the play calling in Washington for the next two weeks, taking those duties away from coach Jim Zorn.

With a pained expression, Washington Redskins coach Zorn announced Monday that the front office "strongly suggested" that he yield his play-calling duties to a consultant hired only two weeks ago. While he didn't say he was given an ultimatum, Zorn said he would comply with the request "because I want to stay here and win."

"Sometimes we have to do things that are uncomfortable," Zorn said.

Zorn received the news in a meeting with front office chief Vinny Cerrato at the stadium following Sunday's 14-6 loss to the previously winless Kansas City Chiefs. The Redskins (2-4) are averaging 13.2 points and have failed to score a touchdown in two of their home games.

"Disaster. Mess. Gongshow. These words describe the state of affairs for the Redskins, who are sizable underdogs on the NFL sports betting odds for their clash with the Eagles on Monday Night Football," BetUS.com staff had to say about this matchup.

"The trends are certainly in Philadelphia's favor rolling into the Monday nighter. Although the Eagles are only 2-6-1 ATS in the last nine meetings between the teams, this isn't a Redskins squad playing at their best. Philly is 9-4 against the number in its last 13 games overall, and is running into a Washington team that's bleeding money for backers. Dating back to last season, the Redskins are 2-9-3 ATS in their last 14 games, and are 1-8 ATS against the number in their last nine games at FedExField."

On paper, this appears to be another very lopsided matchup where the online bookmakers are concerned.
