Monday Night Football Jets vs. Patriots

The Monday Night Football Jets vs. Patriots spread was listed at New England -3.5 in a battle of the two teams with the best records in the NFL and shared leaders atop the AFC East coming into Week 13.  75 percent of those betting the spread in this game were backing New England while that same percentage betting the money line were also backing the Patriots.  Total betting on 45 was balanced on both the OVER/UNDER.

"It's the marquee game of the year," Jets coach Rex Ryan said Friday of the Monday Night Football Jets-Patriots showdown.

The Patriots easily beat Detroit on Thanksgiving Day as did New York vs. Cincinnati.  Both teams have had an extended rest period.

"It's not going to get much bigger than that," Ryan said. "So, the fact that it's a divisional game, I guess the only way it would be better if it was the last game of the regular season. But this is pretty good right here."

One can expect the frigid weather in Foxboro to contribute to a low scoring affair in theory since cold temps tend to make catching a football difficult.  That being said, neither of the bitterly cold games on Sunday played under the assigned total.  It is expected to feel like 10 degrees below zero throughout much of Monday night’s game.

Let’s look at some important trends for the Jets vs. Patriots below.

New York has covered 3 of the last 4 in this series.  The Jets have won 3 of the last 4 outright.

The home team has won the last 3 in this series.

The Jets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC East.

The Jets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog.

The Jets are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games.  The The Patriots are 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0.

The Jets are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win.

New York is 6-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.  The Patriots are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. (edge:  Jets)

The Jets are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games overall.

The Jets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Monday games.
