What the Public is Betting in NCAA College Football Week 6

There are two sides that are seeing especially lopsided action.  Note that the LSU-Florida game, with some early heavy volume, has been cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew.

Washington -9 – Against Oregon, the Huskies were coming in as a -9road favorite.  The Huskies are seeing sick action coming into Saturday’s game that will leave the sportsbooks especially vulnerable.  Volume on the Huskies had dropped a mere 94 percent to 92 percent.  College Football Week 6 betting odds on this game opened at -6.5.  To say the oddsmakers are running scared here would be an understatement.  This could be a situation where Oregon actually covers and the bookmakers simply do not want to get hit by a near 95 percent loss if in fact Washington manages to win by more than 10.

While middling opportunities are rare, one of the strategies we would employ here if you happened to get in on Washington early at -6.5 before the sharps hit this line hard, be sure to bet on Oregon at +9.  You can win both your bets if Washington somehow manages to win by 7 or 8 points.

Clemson Money Line – Over 95 percent of the money line action was on the Clemson Tigers to beat Boston College outright.  You will have to bet $90 to win $10.  The bookmakers are almost certain to take a hit here.

Clemson as a favorite of 10.5 to 21 points has gone 10-0 Straight Up the last three seasons.  Boston College is 1-3 Straight Up over the past three seasons as an underdog of 10.5 to 21 points.

Bettor Beware: Money line bets are no guarantee.  We had a similar situation with 90 percent plus of the money line wagers on Notre Dame to beat Duke outright as a huge home favorite only to have the Blue Devils win in an epic upset.

Getting back to the spread though, Boston College is 3-0 Against The Spread an underdog of 10.5 to 21 points.

The head coach search has become somewhat clouded in Jacksonville and Las Vegas considering one dismissed its GM yesterday and the other hired a GM on Wednesday. Both potentially open the door for Liam Coen should he not sign extension with the Bucs.
