New England Patriots Odds 2013 – 2014 and the Putin Super Bowl Ring Controversy
The New England Patriots odds of winning the 2014 Super Bowl were set at 7/1 but what we really want to know is: What are the odds of Russian President Vladimir Putin returning Pats owner Robert Kraft’s cherished Super Bowl ring.
Kraft said at the Carnegie Hall's Medal of Excellence gala in New York on Thursday that Putin took the 124-diamond ring -- valued at $25,000 -- during a 2005 meeting in St. Petersburg.
“I took out the ring and showed it to [Putin], and he put it on and he goes, ‘I can kill someone with this ring,” Kraft said, according to the New York Post. “I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out.”
Kraft initially had stated that he handed the ring over to Putin as a gift and that is the story the Russian President is currently offering.
As of now none of the online sportsbooks are offering prop bets as to when or if Putin will return the Super Bowl ring, which currently sits in the Kremlin library.
Kraft has another excellent opportunity to win a ring in 2014 with only the San Francisco 49ers a bigger favorite to win the championship game.
The Patriots are huge 1/6 favorites to win the 2013 AFC East at Sportsbook.com. Tim Tebow odds were also being offered.
