It’s all about the Patriots avenging their only loss of the year to division foe Buffalo.  New England was embarrassed at home by the Bills and the betting public sees this as a scenario where the Pats should destroy them.  Not surprisingly, the Pats spread and money line are the two most wagered on options for Week 8 NFL.

This one opened at -4.5 at some books and has gone all the way up to -6.5 but many of the books brought this one down to -5 while nearly all had New England at -6 Saturday morning.  With little effort to get this number back to -6.5 we suspect the books believe Buffalo could cover here.  The sportsbooks enjoyed a sweet pay day Friday night with South Florida covering with most bets at -6.5 on Navy, though a chunk of those betting this game got on the Midshipmen early as a +7.5 to +9 underdog.  Navy covered beyond the 7 after falling behind by double digits early on to South Florida.  Books more than made up for that deficiency with South Florida winning outright and nearly all the money line wagers on Navy.  San Diego State’s big win over Utah Friday night helped ease bettors pain.

It’s easy to see why the betting public is loving New England.  Patriots are 10-2 Against The Spread in their last 12 meetings in Buffalo.  But New England has only covered the spread once in their last four games against the Bills.
