NFL Christmas Eve Game Betting Previews and Odds
It's a full slate of Sunday NFL games....on Saturday. That's right, most of the rest of the games will be played this day as Sunday is Christmas. Let's take a look at some hot trends and betting previews.
In this week's BetOnline Weekly Update, Dave Mason shares the current update from BetOnline onto which teams are getting the most bets from the public as well.
Detroit is seeing all the love as a -2.5 or -3 point favorite. The line has been alternating throughout the week.
We get a line of 1.47 favoring Detroit, which gives us a 1 to 1.5 overlay. While favorites in the range of 3 to 2.5 without going over the number 3 had been hot early on, that trend cooled down a bit. Overlays still went 6-3 in our sampling. That being said, our college football sampling is much larger and favorites in this range have gone 4-15 when an overlay is detected. Carolina is certainly a good option here.
The Saints at Browns line has been a steady Cleveland -3 all week long. We actually get a number of Cleveland 5.01 for this game. That tells us there is a 2-point underlay.
Flat 3's have been limited this season for us to get a feel how this game might go based on line trends.
Raiders vs. Steelers is another game that falls within the 2.5/3 range. Pittsburgh is a -2.5 favorite and we get a number of Steelers 0.25. There is a definite overlay detected. The trends tend to favor Vegas even though the Steelers are quietly surging of late with four wins in their last five games.
