NFL Player Futures Betting Odds 2016: Offensive Rookie of Year, Season MVP, More

Ezekiel Elliot of Dallas was the -140 favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, though it remains to be seen how successful he will be with starting quarterback Tony Romo sidelined for must of the season.
The running back Told ESPN he's learning to handle the scrutiny that comes with playing for the Cowboys in light of visiting a store that sold marijuana just hours before playing a pre-season game in Seattle.
"You definitely have to think of the perception of things before you actually do certain things," Elliott said Monday. "It may not seem like it's a big deal to you yourself, but there's a bigger picture.
"It's definitely a learning experience about the scrutiny. You just have to be careful and not give anybody a chance to say anything."
The next shortest odds in this category go to Jared Goff of LA (11-1).
Regular Season MVP odds featured a three-way tied between Cam Newton of the Panthers, Aaron Rodgers of the Packers and Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers, all at 6-1 or 7-1 depending on the book. Andrew Luck of the Colts was coming in at 8-1 odds, Russell Wilson of the Seahawks at 9-1 and Carson Palmer of the Cardinals at 10-1.
Newton looked very un-MVP-like in his most recent game against New England, brushing off that poor performance by saying “it’s preseason”.
Newton was 13-of-29 passing for 100 yards and two interceptions in that game.
“Well, we took our turns making mistakes and any time that happens, you know you’re going to get those kind of results,” Newton said in comments distributed by the team. “There’s no need to panic. It just comes down to having a good week of practice and the truth of the matter is that we played a great team. You know, great players who are coached extremely well and they are very stingy. That’s all it comes down to.
“We will be better from this. I’m glad it happened. I’m not glad we lost but I’m just glad that we had an understanding that we’re not that good yet. We will be better.”
