Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans

Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans odds had the Titans as -6 ½ favorites vs. the Raiders at BetUS.com (see odds here).  The Titans were getting close to 85 percent of the action in this game and some books were encouraging action on Tennessee by moving the line down to -6.

Gambling911.com has its fair share of Raiders fans and they will want to jump all over the +6 ½, which covers should there be a 6-point win.  We say it’s a little suspicious that the oddsmakers seem so inclined to allow such heavy action on Tennessee.

Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans odds trends for this game include:

The Raiders covered all four games against Tennessee from 2003 to 2007 using the current spread.

The Titans are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. AFC.

The Titans are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

The tandem of Vince Young and reigning rushing champion Chris Johnson will play a major role in Tennessee’s success during 2010.

"We have to start fast. You can't start slow in this league and think you're going to pick it up at the end of the season," fullback Ahmard Hall said. "Championship teams, they finish. They finish strong. You have to start fast and be right neck and neck with those guys."

Tom Cable is beginning his second full season as Raiders coach, and stopping Johnson will be high on his list of priorities.

"He's probably the best there is in this league," Cable said. "He has tremendous guys blocking for him ... he'll be a heck of a test."

The Raiders have vastly improved their defense during the off season with former Pro Bowl defensive tackle John Henderson among the crucial signings.

Newly acquired quarterback Jason Campbell should be able to play following an injury sustained during the 3rd preseason game.

We happen to like Oakland’s chances here in terms of covering, or maybe it’s just us being overly optimistic.
