Odds to win the Big 12 Conference 2011 - 2012 have been posted by BetOnline.com.

Oklahoma is the easy -250 favorite here to win this conference.  Whether they have value at the price or not is for readers to make their own determination.  There is certainly better value (payout potential) with the likes of Texas ($550 for every $100 bet), Texas A&M ($350 for every $100 bet) and Oklahoma State ($850 for every $100 bet).

Blake Frazier notes that the schedule should provide a good barometer for how well the Longhorns will perform.

A week two home game with upstart BYU may be a good indicator as to Texas’ stature in 2011. The Longhorns travel to UCLA in week three with revenge on their minds. Texas was embarrassed by a bad Bruin team last year in Austin. Back-to-back games against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in mid-October will be the key. Road games against Missouri and Texas A&M in November will be difficult.

For the Oklahoma Sooners, two road games loom large on the schedule.

First is the nonconference game at Florida State. The second is at arch-rival Oklahoma State.

David Thomas of the Star-Telegram points out:

The Sooners are loaded and primed for a run at their eighth national championship. The Landry Jones of the final three games of last season is the type of quarterback who can make that happen. Senior WR Ryan Broyles decided not to head to the NFL after his 131-catch season of 2010. He already owns school records for career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

The injury bug is already hitting Oklahoma with Travis Lewis, the defensive captain, breaking a foot during practice and will likely miss the first four games.

The Aggies still have value at +350 odds but the better option is a 9 or 10 win regular season, which BetOnline.com has at -200 on the OVER 8.5.

Baylor +1200

Iowa State +8000

Kansas +10000

Kansas State +2500

Missouri +1400

Oklahoma -250

Oklahoma State +850

Texas +550

Texas A&M +350

Texas Tech +2000
