The odds to win the MWC East 2016 had Boise State at -160, Air Force at 4-1, Utah State at 6-1, Colorado State 8-1, New Mexico at 10-1 and Wyoming at 25-1.

Athlon Sports offered this preview of the Broncos, which leaves room open for some of the other schools on the list:

The Broncos will enter the season as a bit of a mystery with new play callers on both sides of the ball and massive turnover on the defensive line. They’ll find out quickly what they have, though. Boise State has a challenging September — at Louisiana-Lafayette, vs. Washington State and at Oregon State to begin the season.

Air Force at 4-1 odds for a $400 payout on a $100 bet does have some value.

The key game here will be against Utah State the end of the month.

From CampusInsider:

Sept. 24 at Utah State. Obviously the games against Colorado State and Boise State are going to be the most important battles, but those are at home. By far the toughest Mountain West road game should be against Utah State, and it comes in the conference opener. Fortunately for the Falcons they get two weeks to prepare for it, and if they win, they should set up nicely for the key finishing kick in late November. Lose, and there might not be much margin for error.

The head coach search has become somewhat clouded in Jacksonville and Las Vegas considering one dismissed its GM yesterday and the other hired a GM on Wednesday. Both potentially open the door for Liam Coen should he not sign extension with the Bucs.
