LSU vs. Alabama Game

The much anticipated LSU vs. Alabama game featured a line of either 4.5 or 5 in favor of the Crimson Tide depending on the online sportsbooks and the Vegas sportsbooks.

BetOnline.com continues to capitalize on their move to release a line two weeks in advance of this game.

“Those who got down early were able to jump on LSU as a 6-point underdog,” notes Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

There is a danger in offering lines on College Football games this far in advance with online sportsbooks hanging themselves out to dry.  Because the line has moved down to -4.5, an Alabama 5-point win would pay out for both sides

“They (BetOnline oddsmakers) will pray it won’t happen and it hasn’t in this series over the last 10 games,” Shapiro says.

Caesar’s in Las Vegas also featured a lofty opening line of -6 then moved up to -6.5 on the 19th of October.  They were the first land-based sportsbook to offer a line on this game.  Caesar’s moved the line to -5.5 then -5 on the 23rd and BetOnline followed suit the next day.  ‘Sharpies’ could end up having a field day though.
